Cars, especially older ones, don’t always have a convenient spot to put your cell phone and I’ve never been a fan of leaving it in my pocket while driving. Yes, you could slip it into your cupholder, but it’s not quite in the line of sight and that means your drink can’t go there. Which could be catastrophic for those in dire need of caffeine and are unwilling to hold it between their legs.
