Len Rosenbaum plans to buy a small HDTV. Does he need 1080p? I'm a big fan of 1080p, but for a set less than 37 inches, I'd say no. You'd have to be sitting awfully close to see any difference in image quality. Are there compatibility issues? Not really. The FCC-approved standard for HDTV broadcasts doesn't even include 1080p--just 720p and 1080i. Considering all the hassles involved with the recent switch from analog to digital broadcast, I don't think anyone is eager to change broadcast standards any time soon.

If you have a liking to watch television with polarized 3D glasses on for the rest of your life, then you can well cheer this announcement. LG have brought forth their first 3D television set. The 47 inch screen will be labeled 47LH50. Yes, you have heard that before. Reclining back at home watching all those cool 3D movies on this television set will give you a rather manacled experience. It may get addictive beyond comparison but also get you some serious ass sores.

Last year I posed the question "Do You Wall Mount Your TV?," and discovered that about 30% of you have freed yourself from the stand. But I'm curious to know—what about those unsightly cables? To be honest, I have this thing about cables running from a wall-mounted TV. It...it just bothers me. So, do you make an effort to hide them? How do you do it?

Whether you purchased your HDTV yesterday or last year, there's a big chance you just plugged it in and fired it up. Tweak your HDTV for better viewing quality. Photo by blakespot. While HDTV has a pretty awesome picture, and you've likely been enjoying your screen just fine how it is, your television didn't come out of the box pre-programmed for your living room. Your HDTV came out of the box preset for a showroom floor, with the settings cranked up to compete with a wall of other HDTVs to induce that certain feeling of, "Oh my God.

High-definition television is supposed to bring crisp, clear, realistic images into your living room. For TV stars, that potentially means an up-close — and unwelcome? — view of any imperfections they might have. Professional makeup artists have been scrambling to adapt, especially with the formal, government-mandated switch from analog television to digital on June 12.

HDTV ownership increased 73 percent over the 12 months ended February, says new Nielsen figures, reflecting the continuing falling prices in the sets. The overall growth also "fueled" growth in Blu-ray players and Blu-ray titles, says the report. Last February, 19 percent of U.S. households had one HDTV and that number has now jumped to 33 percent.
