A new 6-inch touch-screen based device dubbed the PRS-700. Aside from the touchscreen and the ability to annotate documents using a stylus and pop-up virtual keyboard, the main difference between the PRS-505 and PRS-700 is the addition of integrated LED lighting around the edge of the screen, which makes reading in low light conditions much easier.

After today's reveal that RIM will launch an official app store in the near future, TechCrunch reports on BerryStore, which not only promises to provide apps for the Storm, but the rest of the Blackberry line as well, including the old phones. What makes this a legitimate challenger to the official app store is that BerryStore's content will be available to everyone, regardless of the carrier.

T-Mobile's just rolled back on their 1GB usage cap on their 3G plans for upcoming G1 Android customers, instead going to a hold-up-while-we-figure-this-out route. The statement they give now states that they can reduce throughput for "a small fraction" of users who are using too much data, but exact terms and limits are still being reviewed before they're finalized. Statement after the jump.

Cars, especially older ones, don’t always have a convenient spot to put your cell phone and I’ve never been a fan of leaving it in my pocket while driving. Yes, you could slip it into your cupholder, but it’s not quite in the line of sight and that means your drink can’t go there. Which could be catastrophic for those in dire need of caffeine and are unwilling to hold it between their legs.

The second iteration of the iPod touch equals or improves upon its predecessor in almost every physical facet. Slimmer, lighter and more functional, the v.2 also gets new volume control buttons, full Nike+ integration and a built-in loudspeaker. It's not a radical change, but it's better.

This is the best doorbell a geek can use. Also, it'll be a good change from that old doorbell switch only if it's available in the market. I'll definitely buy it if it's available in nearby market. What about you?

Undoubtedly Star Wars: The Clone Wars was the lamest movie in the franchisee yet, however this has not stopped Lucasarts from releasing movie merchandise. The ISpeaker uses a flat panel speaker and is compatible with iPod, iPhone and other MP3 players. It features Captain Rex from the Clone Wars and is powered by 4 x AAA batteries.

If you thought this post was going to contain a "in Soviet Russia" joke—think again. Besides, spending a whopping $990 on an iPhone is hardly a laughing matter. Actually, the price is a bargain compared to the 600,000 or so iPhones that have hit the market through unauthorized sales—but it is still well out of the budget of your average Russian citizen.

I must admit, 3G networks have not really taken off to their full potential just yet. There are still plenty of people who have yet to pick up a 3G handset, let alone those who already own one who barely use their phones to perform 3G tasks such as video calls, surfing the Internet and streaming audio and video.

I'm not sure if the Peek emailer is a great idea or a stupid one. Basically, the Peek is a stripped down handheld device with a QWERTY keyboard that does nothing but handle your email. The shaky logic behind the device is research that shows roughly 90% of email users are not checking their email on the go—but why they assume this group would forgo the cellphone they surely already have for yet another gadget is beyond me.

When going on an outing it has now become mandatory for us not to keep our mobile phones in the same pocket where we keep our loose change. Over the years there have been some coverings available as either fancy accessories to the phone or just has a shatter deterrent from a fall.
