F-4 Phantom Ejection Seat has an ejection lever that works!
Posted on Jun 30 2009 1:12 AM by adeal

Unlike the fake old renditions of chairs with ejection facilities that didn’t really work, the F-4 Phantom Ejection Seat is an office chair that lives up to its name. Although it looks link an executioner’s mount, the seat does well to gel with the modern day office décor. The chair has a powder-coated, custom fabricated aluminum base and double wheel casters. It is also available in colors other than the red shown here. It can get you out of any sticky situation by flinging you out with a mere pull of a lever.

A good idea is one that makes everyone look up to you and say, “Nice”. A great idea is one that can cater to everyone, turn heads of those who claimed they had better ideas and of course, be desired for more than anything else. As a shining model before us, we have the Project Natal by Microsoft. When it was announced, this motion sensing game console concept was something that got everyone to turn nervously towards competition. Now that the entire hype and concept has settled down in our heads we can look back to all the benefits that were charted out during the creation of this console.

Sanrio announces two Hello Kitty Digital Picture Frames
Posted on Jun 01 2009 1:54 AM by adeal

Although I’d like to get it out of the way that I do not under any circumstances enjoy Hello Kitty products and think that grown women look silly using them, this would be a great gift for a young girl. After all, kids are becoming far more tech savvy than their parents, so they might as well enjoy technology such as this as well. Having around a digital picture frame would give them the ability to display a lot of photos without the clutter of a lot of picture frames.

'Home' entertainment was norm during my time

Staying at home more? Many people say they are. With economic times what they are, saving money with home entertainment is a good idea. I recall how easy it was to have fun at home in the "olden days," when I grew up.
During my school years, Thursday was always my favorite day of the week, because my sister Kath and I had a weekly evening of partying at home. It was our good fortune that my parents, who were quite a bit younger than the other kids' folks, played bridge every Thursday, and we were allowed to have the gang over at our house until 10:30 p.m.

The first quarter wasn’t so bad after all. Consumer spending on home entertainment is estimated at $5.3 billion by DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group, down just 5% from the first quarter of last year. The DEG estimate, based on studio and retail input as well as industry tracking sources, includes sales and rental of DVD and Blu-ray Disc as well as digital distribution. The DEG further says home entertainment’s net contribution to studios was down less than 4% for the quarter.

As can be seen in the figure below the catch all “General Infrastructure Optimisation” is the leading initiative currently being undertaken by organisations as they respond to mounting business challenges and the global economic climate. Many initiatives highlighted in the barometer survey have the potential to impact storage environments, some directly but many others via indirect consequences.

At Your Command mannequin lamp

Mannequins are cool, because you get the fun of positioning them yourself. Although unless you have a small one created for art purposes, most people don’t get to play with them a whole lot. Typically they’re reserved for stores to display bits of clothing. Of course you could buy a Barbie doll or something, but that makes you appear a bit juvenile. So instead we all need a set of these cool lamps to hang out in our living rooms. They’d make great conversation pieces.

Human Washing Machine
Posted on Apr 16 2009 10:25 AM by adeal

This next machine is a real sign of the times. It is a washing machine that is designed to wash you instead of your laundry. This human washing machine, known as the Avant Santelubain 999 allows the user to lie down and let the machine spray him or her with soap and water, along with infrared light for steam heat. It will even use aromatherapy and sound, then has an option of a seaweed wrap. Say what? I’m not really certain how that seaweed wrap part works, but I have heard that the Human Washing Machine will sterilize itself after a wash is completed.

Cloud Sofa

Some of you might remember the article about the Hoverit Floating Chair, a lounger that can float on a cushion of air. I remember looking at that device and thinking: well, it would be fun to sit and hover, but the plexiglass mold doesn’t look too comfortable. It is only natural that someone would take the Hoverit one step further with the Cloud sofa. Designer D.K. Wei’s magnetic floating sofa is designed for “ultra comfort and relaxation”.

We have gadgets for even the smallest tasks, so why not toss in a brightly colored one to mix your drinks too? These will make sure your drinks get mixed well and look good doing it. The whirling tornado in the center would even be fun for the kids to watch. After all, you could mix all sorts of things in it, even silly things like chocolate milk. When it comes time to clean it, you won’t have to worry about putting much effort into the cleaning process either.

The Schimmel Ferrari Piano

Although I sometimes think the classics are the best, sometimes an old design can use a complete overhaul. This piano won’t work for everyone of course, mostly because it’s going to cost quite a bit to purchase. This piano takes the usual bulky design and gives it a great deal of flow. It also makes the piano seem so much smaller. Plus there is the added benefit that it’s modeled after a car.

Brilliant Bulbdial Clock Becomes a Reality
Posted on Apr 09 2009 12:10 PM by adeal

Last year David Friedman from Ironic Sans conceptualized a Bulbdial clock that works like a sundial, only with LEDs. The guys at Evil Mad Scientist have gone a step further and made the clock a reality. The only real difference between Friedman's concept and Evil's working device is that they simplified the mechanics by mounting a ring of lights at three different heights instead of a single rotating light to achieve the shadow effect. Complete instructions on how to make one yourself are available on the EMS Labs website and there is talk of producing a kit for sale. Hell, I would probably buy one.
