I'm sure military enthusiasts will geek out about this IMI Wildcat — A Hummer-replacing 4x4 MPC vehicle that can hold 12 soldiers, protect against 14.5 mm fire and RPGs, cross 900mm trenches, is C-130 transportable, yada yada yada, whoopdie freakin doo. But what makes this thing truly awesome is that it has a gun turret on top that can be remotely controlled from inside.

The first of the card-makers to launch their 9600 GSO is EVGA, with a 650MHz, 384MB / 1900MHz DDR3, PCI Express 2.0 ditty (e-GeForce 9600GSO Superclocked 384MB), as well as an even lower end 550MHz, 384MB / 1600MHz version (e-GeForce 9600GSO 384MB).

Posted on Apr 25 2008 6:14 AM by adnana

Financially struggling college boys probably have had photocopied textbooks that might otherwise have cost upwards $100 each. However, nearly all the photocopied versions share the same problem of having distorted lines at the protruding binding edge. The problem is even worse for photocopies from hardcover books.

This is where Plustek OpticBook 4600 book scanner comes in; the company's SEE (you don't have to worry about the acronyms) combines a patented lamp light with a special edge design that allows scans right up to where the book spine is.

HP OfficeJet Pro L7590
Posted on Apr 18 2008 4:17 AM by adnana

HP's OfficeJet range of ink-jet all-in-ones is well known, but its OfficeJet Pro machines are less famous. The main difference between the two ranges is the print speed of the OfficeJet Pro, which is a result of the separate ink and print head system used in these more expensive machines.

The OfficeJet Pro L7590 is a substantial machine, a good deal wider and higher than HP's cheaper, largely home-orientated machines. Coloured in black and cream, with a predominantly silver control panel, the L7590 looks purposeful and approachable, ideal in a small or home office. It has a 50-sheet Auto Document Feeder (ADF) on top of a standard glass flatbed, working across the width of the machine, and a 250-sheet paper feed at the front. Paper makes its usual 180-degree turn, common in HP inkjets, and is fed out to the top of the paper tray.

Kensington Ci70 keyboard with a built-in mini USB cable
Posted on Apr 16 2008 7:15 AM by adnana

Since the birth of keyboards, there's hardly been any major change in keyboard format. Sure, gaming keyboard do pack couple of programmable keys, but its not too useful for ordinary folks. Recently, Kensington came up with a new keyboard with a built-in mini USB cable! As seen in the picture, the slim keyboard houses a mini USB connector behind a small sliding door. Of course, you can't call it a breakthrough design, but the cable will prove to be immensely helpful to media geeks who constantly transfers data from one device to another.

Silver Seal Washable Keyboard

Silver isn't only great for killing werewolves and vampires, they're also good for killing germs. Seal Shield has released a new washable, anti-microbial keyboard that supposedly kills contaminants with its silver ions. Being dishwasher-safe, it is a snap disinfecting your keyboard with scalding hot water and soap if you're so paranoid about catching the bug from sick colleagues who have used your keyboard before. The Silver Seal washable keyboard retails for $69.99 and is truly a purchase for the paranoid - I don't think ordinary Tom, Dick and Harrys will be that fearful of catching a bug from the keyboard.

Ultra sues just about every other modular power supply manufacturer
Posted on Apr 13 2008 9:44 AM by adnana

Ultra Products, Inc. is trying its hand at that most glorious of corporate traditions: suing the pants off one's competition. The maker of computer components is taking 22 -- yes, twenty two! -- of their competitors to court, claiming to have a patent for modular power supplies since November of 2006. Ultra says they sent several warnings to the companies about the violations and is asking for the legal maximum of three times the damages. The suit actually doesn't accuse the companies of violating the patent, but of being an accomplice to end users who are violating the patent. Oh, and unless we're missing something here, Hewlett Packard filed a modular power supply patent in 2000 -- we certainly recall Screen Savers covering the devices way back in '99.

    Dell 968 Wireless All-in-One Printer
Posted on Apr 11 2008 5:55 AM by adnana
    Filed Under: Peripherals ,

Dell's range of all-in-one printers continues to grow and the 968 sits near the top of the UK range. Designed for a high-end home customer or for a SOHO environment, the device supports print, scan, copy and fax, as well as being able to print from memory cards and cameras.

Most of Dell's all-in-one printers are made for it by Lexmark and the 968 looks very much like something out of the latter's latest range of devices. Coloured in silver and white, with a wraparound look to its corners, it manages to appear a bit less boxy than machines from its alter ego.

The horizontal, indented Auto-Document Feed (ADF) tray is a nice touch, as is the beautifully simple control panel. For a four-in-one machine like this, a simple number keypad and a total of nine other buttons control all functions of the machine. They work with a 61mm LCD display, which has a well-designed menu and feedback system, including animated instructions for jobs like changing ink cartridges.

Saitek PK17U Cyborg Gaming Keyboard rocks the infinitely adjustable backlighting
Posted on Apr 10 2008 2:57 PM by adnana
    Filed Under: Peripherals ,

We’ve tested all of Saitek’s backlit keyboards, and laud their excellent touch response and attractive, helpful illumination. Now the company’s outdone itself with the Saitek PK17U Cyborg Gaming Keyboard. This baby reaches to a new level of backlighting coolness, giving you control of not only the intensity of its three colors, but the ability to mix them together into hues no staid designer would dare choose.

You can also set it up to independently light up commonly-used gaming keys, and if you tend to bang away at that game all night long, there are metal-plated keycaps on those gaming keys that can withstand even the most spirited pounding. You can also program it for multiple rapid key presses, letting you shoot faster than any human ever could.
