Sony announced the VGX-XL3 Home Theater PC, which not only impresses with good looks but also with nice features - except for my obvious dislike of Blu-Ray compared to HD-DVD. Speaking of which, the VGX-XL3 doesn’t only offer a Blu-Ray drive but a Blu-Ray burner!
Apart from Blu-Ray, the VGX-XL3 also offers a huge 500GB of storage, a wireless keyboard for controlling it and HDMI and 1394 for connectivity. And if that’s not enough, the nice horizontal case also manages to make space for a CableCard slot.

The product was develop by a company called Zink, a spon-off of Polaroid. It was featured on New Scientist Tech magazine, and here is a description of the printing process: “To bring out the correct colour at each pixel, the temperature and exposure to the heater element is precisely controlled. The crystals in the top yellow layer require the highest temperature and shortest time to melt and become coloured; the magenta middle layer a lower temperature and longer time; and the bottom cyan layer the lowest temperatures and longest exposure time.”
The beauty of this new technology is that the printed images, apart from having a good quality, will also be more resistant and water proof. The producer confirmed that some products might enter the market already by the end of 2007.

Slightest Touch is a gadget that can provide a woman “continuous stimulation to a woman’s sexual nerve pathways” by placing two thin electrodes in one’s ankles. The device is supposed to send little electrical impulses up your body to keep you in a peak mode. The manual says that drinking Gatorade is supposed to help maximize the pleasure. Now, for those men out there. Does it work for you? Well, according to the Slightest Touch forums, placing them on your knees or inner thighs is to have given some men pleasure, along with sticking the electrodes on one’s back. The device seems to be an original idea indeed.

The Nikon D40 DSLR is finally here after a number of high-profile leaks and reports by some of the leading photography websites. We’ve resisted the urge to break any embargoes, instead preferring to bring you news of the D40 in full, along with some exclusive product shots from yesterday’s UK press launch in central London. The Nikon D40 is small, light and undeniably cheap at just £449.99/ €679.99 with the new 18-55mm kit lens (it won’t be sold as body-only), but after trying it out, the D40 importantly still retains the usual high Nikon build-quality. The new Nikon D40 will be available from 1st December 2006. --------------------------------------------------------- If you're looking for professional wedding photography and need a professional photographer then you may want to check us out. If you also need professional DJ equipment for your reception then don't hesitate to take a look.

The awareness of climate change never was so high. The Academy Awards are a great venue to market innovative new cars that enable people to make a difference. It would be nice if Tesla Cars would be made by Ford or GM and sell for $20,000 in numbers and not for $92,000.

Television viewing on mobile phones should be commonplace by 2008, at least in Europe and the US. This opinion was recently expressed by Nokia, the world’s largest cell phone maker. Trials conducted in the past year have shown that consumers like the service and are willing to pay 5 to 10 euros per month for it. “Excited by the prospects of a possible cash cow, the mobile and broadcast industries are keen to launch commercial services in Europe and the United States,” reports CNN, “while South Korea already has them in operation.” “There are currently half a dozen mobile TV technologies which work in many different parts of the frequency band.” Because of this frequency variation, different countries will adopt mobile TV at different rates.

VeinViewer is a vein-contrast enhancement device that uses an infra-red camera to highlight blood (the underlying vasculature) and projects the image in real time onto the skin. With this device, physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals can find veins easily and avoid multiple needle sticks to patients. Venipuncture, the collection of blood specimen from a vein, is commonly seen by nurses as one of the most painful and frequently performed invasive procedures. According to an article in the Journal of Phlebotomy, an estimated one billion venipunctures are performed annually. In one study in the Journal of Nursing, the number of needle sticks for successful catheter placement ranged from one to at least 14. Ninety percent of inpatients require peripheral IV access and approximately 25% of patients need central venous access which consists of a small flexible tube being implanted under the skin so medications can be delivered directly into larger veins.
